Google Rolls Out New Targeting Options for Mobile Ads





This new feature will be most useful if you're running ads that contains specific messages pertaining to specific devices or carriers. The landing pages for those mobile ads will be optimized for the specific device, billing relationships with certain carriers or mobile apps which were developed for specific platform.

So this means that if you are selling Nexus One cases, you can use this targeting option to let only Nexus One users see the your ads. All other users with different users won't see your ads. Hence, less annoyances for mobile phone users.

In addition, mobile ads that link to mobile app downloads will also now automatically appear only on devices that uses those apps.  The ad will only display Download hyperlinked to the download site, instead of displaying the actual URL. If you are an advertiser, you simply need

    to append -itunes.apple.com/ or market.android.com/ followed by the app name in the ad's visible URL, and it will automatically display as Download iPhone App or Download Android App.
